As the vorpals tear the demon Minge apart below, Carl flees the collapsing club with a hysterical Samantha (who has just gotten her bartender “boyfriend” killed) and reunites with Katia, who has the Orchid in hand. Katia vows not to eat it (the Sepsis-Crown escape) until the squad reaches the ninth floor.
