Into the Minefield

Carl and Elle emerge in the Madness’s trap-choked prairie, and as he picks his way through summon traps his teleported reinforcements arrive scrambled: Dong Quixote on the swamp yak Gonk and axe-wielding Bigs instead of the small were-castor Holger. Carl makes Samantha an officer to paint the blurry, gravity-magic Bleached Drake threatening Louis, just as the lingering gate times out and the Feral God Yarilo enters the realm.
