Forty Paths to Upano

Dr. Metcalf lays out the route to the Upano pit stop: start on the direct jungle line, veer off before the Temple of the Exploding Snake Goddess, ford the piranha river, loop around the southern cannibal village. It also needles Carl for skipping the third GPS upgrade and its threat radar. Carl coaxes Osvaldo back into talking and learns he collected two memorial crystals, both rejected by the gods who set the quests. Quemada, the crew's fire fairy, begins sobbing that she no longer knows what is real, and the starting lights go yellow.
