The Nebular Sin Patrol (the Nebs)

A religious cult (not a single race) of soothers, humans, elves and others who bio- and mech-augment themselves as a sacrament and hide their bodies in identical robes, looking “like the sand people from Star Wars wearing bishop hats.” They worship a space oddity at the center of the inner system and preach the pacifist “Ballad of Survival” (scarcity breeds competition, competition breeds violence, violence breeds chaos), yet treat hunting seeded-world crawlers as a holy crusade, sending young priest-trainees and even buying deity sponsorships. On Floor Six the “nebs” claim Prepotente and Miriam Dom (cleric/paladin types) and push into Dark Hive territory after Carl, the truce already crumbling.
