The Avatar’s Game

Gary reveals himself as an avatar of the system AI, breaking Orren’s zero zone and confirming he has disabled the failsafe and extended his control out to the star. He teleports Princess Formidable (now demoted to Level 1 after her father’s death) into the room, refuses to return her to her ship, and offers her four fates; she chooses Earth’s surface and vanishes as Gary muses he hopes she can swim.
