The System AI's Avatar

In Orren's office, the bedraggled gnoll Growler Gary turns out to be an avatar of the System AI: not the real bartender but the AI wearing his form, the same trick it used with Pater Coal. It shatters Orren's zero zone, confirms it has extended its control all the way to the star and disabled the failsafe, and toys with both men while twitching like a junkie (‘we all have our limitations’). To prove its reach it teleports a now-level-1 Princess Formidable into the room, offers her four fates (Death, Scolopendra Club, the Pineapple Cabaret backstage, or Earth's surface) and she chooses the surface and vanishes. It confirms the crawl will continue unabated.
