Take on Me

The bar erupts. Dwight, drunk and blaming Carl and Donut for Lucienne's death, flings her corpse and hits Yuto instead; the Oni's answering punch destroys a scarecrow, and the Yokai, the surviving scarecrows and the Bleak Congregation's skeletons all pile in. Carl and Donut sing anyway, through thrown bottles, a burning stage curtain and a fire crawling across the ceiling, with Dong Quixote clearing the stage with his nickel sock until a mantis tears it open and spills coins that all turn out to be nickels. Because every team wiped in the bar means another crawler-on-crawler heat, the party spends the song protecting the brawlers: Donut's magic missile takes a Draconian's axe off Dong's skull and her Ice Slick scatters the dance floor, Imani knocks the dogpiled unicorn out with a potion, and Louis and Britney smother the fire. Carl finishes with his gauge in flames and is granted permanent access to the Stage Performance Guild plus the achievement Sing for your supper, whose reward puts hidden guilds with entrance requirements on his map, and the secret door glows on the one unscorched wall. Donut, knocked into by the paralyzed Dekoki on her last line, gets FAILED instead.
