Eris's chaos aura swaps every nearby crawler's inventory — Carl is holding thousands of unsorted hats, Donut is appalled by his rocks — while the goddess taunts Taranis about their mother in front of the whole floor. Carl talks Donut through searching the swapped inventory, combining a banger sphere with an enriched pet biscuit and dropping it into his xistera; he launches off the motorcycle and throws it down Scolopendra's throat. The dungeon's largest monster collapses into a puddle of goo the size of a small elephant, and the System hands over an achievement whose only reward is its own disbelief. Eris then freezes the world again and appears as a snake-tailed colossus with Uzi Jesus on her shoulder: she wants no worship because Carl is chaos itself, four of her mother's five pieces are on this floor, the AI has been using the pig as a distraction, and if the players downstairs win the Ascendency it is lights out. Her parting riddles are that every exit is an entrance and that the coin's fifth side has to be settled by the end of the twelfth. Taranis sends Khepri home, spares Carl and Donut because Penelope spoke for them, says he is taking two pieces of his mother — and vanishes with Samantha, who whispered something in his ear, and with Krakaren.
