The System uses it to explain how much work went into Floor 8 — the planet was chosen for the season long before any of the crawlers were born, Borant submitted a proposal for all eighteen levels, and artists, engineers and writers both flesh and artificial built the T'Ghee card game out of it. Carl has just broken something in that design.
