The Aryl System Goes Dark

When Princess Formidable failed to manually trigger Earth's failsafe, orcs boarded her stalled cruiser and pressed the button themselves. Nothing happened on Earth, but in the same nanosecond, the Aryl system, home of a previous battle-royale crawl, went completely dark and its tunnel node switched off. Zev explains this has never happened in recorded history: even nova'd systems leave their nodes visible as a map of the seeded worlds. Tens of thousands remained in-system on mining and reclamation ships, plus an investigation team on the surface; it will take roughly three light-cycles to learn whether the star still exists.
