Big Boy Blue (Jellyfish)

The largest of the Akula’s drifting jellyfish: fifteen-foot, glowing-blue “Big Boy Blues” (Level 40) that hover over the wreck like dumb, harmless sentinels, hurting you only if you blunder into their dangling tentacles. Far nastier are the smaller white “pain amplifier” jellyfish Vadim warns the divers to avoid. Both drift unpredictably through the dark water around the sunken submarine.

• Chapter 25 — Float over the Akula as the divers thread between them toward the wreck’s torn entrance.
