The Akula
The Water Quadrant castle · a sunken submarine
The Water Quadrant’s “castle”: the Akula, a colossal 20,000-Leagues submarine docked against an underwater entrance to the tomb, crewed by robots and captained by the reanimated head of the bugbear Shamus Chaindrive in a spider-legged jar. Chris Andrews 2 and two others break in, smash the bugbear’s jar, and take the bridge, but the sub fires a torpedo into the mountain on capture, draining the ocean and flooding the Necropolis from below. The three escape hatches are missile tubes, one to each other quadrant; Chris is launched into the Air Quadrant.
