Ruckus

A house-sized, half-machine chicken hawk in steampunk brass armor that roosts near Hump Town each night and terrorizes the area around it: its main weapon a 25-foot pole of ten spinning buzzsaws on retractable cables. Ruckus is a bereft, self-replicating sentinel automaton built by the paranoid bugbear treasure-hunter Shamus Chaindrive to guard his prize, the Gate of the Feral Gods. When the System wakes it to seek “enemies of the captain,” Carl kills it from the Chariot with three guided missiles, looting a ton of dwarfish aluminum, the giant buzzsaw, and an area field guide.

Book 4 appearances

• Chapter 8 — Juice Box names the nightly borough boss; Carl plans to test his rocket on it.
• Chapter 9 — Killed by three Chariot-launched missiles; its lore reveals Chaindrive and the Gate of the Feral Gods.
• Chapter 10 — Its looted field guide maps every mob in the bowl.
