Each gem represents a town the holder controls; keep a town’s gem when the floor collapses and you draw a permanent tax stipend from it every ten days. Donut’s single plain-turquoise gem (Point Mongo) grants +8 Dexterity, +4 Intelligence, the Snitch skill, and 3,592 gold every ten days. She loathes the turquoise, comparing herself to an elderly woman with smoke-stained teeth sitting in a bingo hall. But the system caps how many charms she can wear, so the butterfly has to come off. Upgrading it requires conquering an Extra-Large settlement.
