The Crafter Alliance

A hunter faction of subterranean, soother-like aliens: heart-humped heads, pale veined skin, and four pierced nipple-rings, barbarian meatheads who genuinely look forward to death and whose home system exports much of the galaxy’s best booze and not-quite-legal pharmaceuticals. Too poor to play faction wars, they join the Hunt instead; on Floor Six the Crafters are assigned Elle and Eva but, after one bloody skirmish, spend the rest of the floor drinking in Zockau. Their broker Iota, a one-legged “Coin Tinker” teleported drunk into Carl’s lap by the blood-bar rule, cheerfully spills the used-AI secret before Carl crushes him.
