Infiltrators (the Scree)
Brain-parasite race · pilots the living
The most insidious of the brain-worm parasites: distant cousins of the Intellect Hunters and the Valtay, properly called the Scree. Unlike those, which animate corpses, an Infiltrator infects a LIVING host: over a few days the annexation completes, the worm seizes full control, and the host is locked inside their own body, awake and powerless, watching themselves be puppeted. The worm can only leave once the host is dead, and is aquatic like most brain parasites. Killing one without killing the host is next to impossible: only a next-floor antiparasitic might do it.
