Jola
Donut's Icelandic mythic totem card
A mythic creature from Iceland that Katia gives Donut as an excess totem card. Rather than cut an existing card, Donut uses a Combo card to merge two problem totems and a Glow-Up to make it permanent, ending up with two new totems (Jola among them) for her deck-combat army. Donut pronounces him “great as long as there are no children around,” a wink at the child-eating Yule folklore he’s drawn from.
Book 6 appearances
- Chapter 34 — Katia gifts the card; Donut combos and Glow-Ups her deck to slot Jola and a second new totem in for the practice fights.
- Chapter 41 — First battlefield use: his head-candle exposes the invisible Visitor and its Quench Moths, and the house-sized Yule Cat seizes and devours the enraged deckmaster.
