Kiwi, the Mongoliensis Pack Leader

A battle-scarred, one-eyed Level-60 velociraptor with pink-and-blue feathers: the “head bitch in charge” of the jungle’s fastest, most vicious predators. Her pack is entirely female (and, oddly, so is every dinosaur in the area, despite dinosaurs not existing here before Scolopendra’s attack, a mystery the cookbook flags as important). When Mongo is lured out to her clearing the standoff doesn’t end in a fight: the two raptors mate, and Donut spends the rest of the floor fretting over her new “grandchildren” and her dinosaur daughter-in-law. Kiwi was born an Ursine and is changed back into a bear during the Butcher’s Masquerade (still in Book 5); her later Book 7 appearances are in bear form, not as a raptor.

Book 5 appearances

• Chapter 11 — Lures Mongo to her clearing; the standoff ends in mating, not a fight.
• Chapter 12 — Watches Point Mongo from the treeline: her dot stays red to Carl but turns white for Donut, her new mother-in-law.
• Chapter 44 — Revealed to be Big Tina’s mother: one of the ursine women Scolopendra transformed into a dinosaur; she still tries (and lately fails) to keep her rampaging daughter in check.
• Chapter 49 — Donut charms her with the Apothecary’s Charm Mongoliensis potion: Kiwi becomes Donut’s minion and brings her ~36-strong all-female pack into the Royal Court’s service, the true solution to the Recital quest, before being changed back into an Ursine bear during the Butcher’s Masquerade.
