The new croupier working the top-floor casino table where the “Nothing” slot had reappeared on the Wheel of Fortune. Pontiff, who had been a wall rat himself, reported that Mitch used to be one too, and rated him an ass but a crafty one. Pontiff was working that table when he bought a portal-examination spell and waited for somebody to open the new slot.
