The Stoned-Mob Mystery

Carl's unsettling theory, built from a floor of empty vials and a scorched dead-end: the mobs ride to every fifth station to score a golden syrup, teleport home, and queue up again when the high fades. The warrens aren't settlements: they're waiting rooms full of addicts, riding the rails to feed their own fix.
