The agency she is a vice president of is a notorious medical collections outfit whose primary client is the Viceroy system, and its trade is implant reclamation and indenture capture against delinquent medical debt — repossessing what was installed in a patient, or taking the patient. It is one line of a resort guest list that also runs to elf politicians and waystation CFOs, and it is the reason Carl's pity for the woman in the webbing arrives with an asterisk attached.
