A Petite Chronicle of the Crawl

Sydnee Iglacia’s history · over a trillion copies sold

The full title runs to a subtitle about one lady's journey into enlightenment through knowledge, scholarship and three-beat poetry, it is sold at every way station bookstore, and it has passed a trillion copies. Its author makes almost nothing from it: the contract with her Valtay-owned publisher holds her royalties for the whole of her natural life and pays her heirs only once they prove she was of good moral character, unless she signs a Valtay life contract and lets a worm have her body after death. The book's argument is the part nobody engaged with — that the crawl is a monument and a warning, an epic poem about the fall of the greatest civilization the galaxy has known. Readers bought it to watch crawlers die one at a time. Only now, with systems going dark and war spreading, does anyone call the author for counsel.
