Sydnee Iglacia
A Saccathian historian and three-beat poet whose door-stopper history of the crawl has passed a trillion copies sold, and who is still broke: her publisher is a Valtay subsidiary holding her royalties for life, and her habitat's new owners have tripled her rent and stopped including oxygen. She films her first one-on-one interview from that apartment, tentacles undulating under her dress and a neighbour shouting through the wall. Nobody has ever let her finish a point in a roundtable, so she does not tell the show what she intends to say. What she says is that the crawl is a gravestone, that the nine-tier attack is real history rather than a fairy tale, and that the attacks have names — the first is control, the second is A Parade of Horribles, the third This Inevitable Ruin, the fourth Bedlam. She gets all of it out before the AI takes over every feed in the studio.
Book 8 appearances
- Chapter 99 — Interviewed one-on-one on Danger Zone as the next floor begins; she lays out the Scolopendra myth, names the second, third and fourth attacks, and says many believe the Apothecary is the one who tempered the original.
