The Death of Tsarina Signet
A throat cut to break the seal
With every plan in ruins inside the sealed Masquerade ballroom, Tsarina Signet (told by Empress D'Nadia that her mother and all her tattooed dead “never existed”) takes the sacrifice on herself. To cast her Ink Marauder spell she needs caster, blood-source and killer in one, so she slits her own throat beside her sister Imogen. The act breaks Apito's peace seal, drops Signet into the Nothing, and leaves her blood and living tattoos behind as an ethereal army to fall on the queen: her final proof that her family was real. A voice from the Nothing cries “Psamathe, we are coming.” The act spares Carl from killing Eva himself, and triggers Escape Plan D.
