Samantha (Psamathe)

Banished lesser deity · the party’s trainer “Samantha”

The lesser deity Ghazi accidentally summoned while reaching for Yarilo, god of Lust. Banished to the Nothing long ago for an affair with a mortal king, Psamathe (“Samantha” to friends) had escaped once before and split in two: half her essence lodged in the nearest naiad-shaped vessel (a sex doll modeled on the fictional stage heroine Lika) and the other half rode out with her sand-ooze familiar, the cursed child of that royal union. She lied to the lovesick Ghazi to make him open the Nothing, meaning to reunite and resurrect, but his botched ritual flash-froze the doll to glass. The Larracos scholars wrongly assumed she'd possessed the necropolis ghost Quetzalcoatlus; in truth she was split between the doll and the ooze the whole time. Mongo shattering the glass doll wrecks the trap, leaving her a raving, decapitated “withering spirit” head that Carl's party hires as a safe-room trainer, because the moment she leaves a safe room her presence may summon a furious god.
