Mrs. Ghazi (Sand Ooze)

The Land Quadrant boss: a jealous sand ooze, familiar of the deity Psamathe, magically “married” to the mage Ghazi and living atop the basement lab. It loves a man whose feelings aren't mutual and so eats him alive every day that he turns to sand, then revives him. It hunts by vibration, snuffs ordinary fire, and cannot be permanently killed while Psamathe walks the world (it regrows from a single grain of sand). Carl beats it by crawling the ceiling on his toe-ring's Sticky Feet, distracting it with a bass-heavy alarm ball, and torching its yolk-like core with Mordecai's burn gel, collapsing the castle in the process.

Book 4 appearances

• Chapter 21 — Oozes up the basement stairs after the crew aborts the boss-room entry; Ghazi explains it is his cursed ooze “wife.”
• Chapter 22 — Killed via Sticky-Feet ceiling crawl + burn-gel on its core, opening the quadrant, and burying Carl and Donut as the castle falls.
