The T'Ghee Squad System
Flags, totems & forced squad-building
The eighth floor's defining mechanic. Each squad (capped at five crawlers, with six-plus extra slots to fill) must be filled before phase two or it's filled randomly. The squad leader gets twenty enchanted flag-spikes bearing the squad's auto-generated logo; plant one in any living entity below 5% health and it becomes a T'Ghee totem: a reusable, tarot-like playing card that summons that monster as an obedient minion, reusable even after the summon dies. Totems can be traded, stolen, or torn in two to dismiss. Only the squad leader may hold the cards; at phase two all unplaced totems dissipate and each surviving squad keeps a single card. Mordecai likens them to Bautista's stuffed figures.
