The Burrowers

The royal family and governing body of the mantis system: distinct from the private, amusement-park corporation that is the Dark Hive (which sells its looted gear exclusively to them). One of the nine factions that compete in the ninth floor’s faction wars, the Burrowers are reputedly among the deadliest, most terrifying forces in the galaxy, yet usually wash out second (after the nagas) because the generated NPCs they’re assigned aren’t fellow mantises.
