Edict

The last mantis left on Floor Six besides Vrah: a small, sword-armless male of the Dark Hive (the “Deep Mind” line) who works only as the clan’s merchant-accountant, buying looted gear on contract for the Burrower government. Lured by Carl’s protection offer, he reveals he can’t hand over the gear (it’s pre-sold) and won’t mate with the gonorrhea-stricken Vrah, a cross-hive coupling that would shame his family. Trapped between ruin and dishonor, he takes a third path: he attacks Carl a third time on purpose, triggering a “Super Naughty” teleport to a monster nest (death in battle) and leaves Carl a fortune in gold. His sacrifice denies Vrah her only cure.
