Vrah

The most feared of the sixth floor’s returning Hunters: a mantis of the Dark Hive who takes the heads of those she kills and wears them upon her body, her death count in the thousands. “She is always here,” the Bush Elf Ian warns: one of about 20 regulars who come back every season. Carl kills her little sister Xindy in Zockau before ever laying eyes on Vrah herself: an opening move in the masquerade to come.

Book 5 appearances

• Chapter 1 — Named by Ian as the deadliest Hunt regular: a mantis who wears her victims’ heads.
• Chapter 5 — Her little sister, the mantis Xindy, is killed by Carl during the Zockau raid.
• Chapter 35 — The Alucarda showdown: Vrah corners the deshrouded Carl, her carapace studded with Langley’s and Bogdon Ro’s heads, which Donut’s Second Chance reanimates to bite Vrah’s exposed neck, letting Carl ram an Arrow of Enthusiastic Double Gonorrhea into her before she ejects and flees. Now the last living warrior mantis, she must pass the curse on or suffer it.
• Chapter 73 — Killed at last: set upon by Mongo and Kiwi at the broken party (limbs torn off) then finished by Mongo as the gleeful Samantha bites down, avenging all of Vrah’s thousands of victims.
