The Butcher's Masquerade · Chapter 8
The Butcher’s Masquerade
Opening his boxes, Carl finds each hunter trophy is a severed hand (or claw), currency for a prize counter at a masked end-of-floor party, the Butcher’s Masquerade, to which only the top 50 crawlers are invited. He also examines the Night Wyrm’s Web of Suffering tattoo the Ring left him, which grants access to the cultish Guild of Suffering. The recap launches the guild system (charters let separate parties ally) and shows the unchanged top-ten leaderboard, as the river rising in Carl’s mind grows louder.
