Hedy hauls the garage door open and states the terms: last place dies, the garage attendant with them, and no crawler drives two heats in a row. A bubbling, suicidal voice seizes the loudspeaker before Zev wrestles it back to brief the floor, calling it Don't Come in Last: seven heats, nine teams a heat, 1,800 teams, upgrades between races, no stealing a rival's vehicle and no movement spells. The wheel of a hundred-odd vehicle silhouettes settles on a Big Shot Chicken food truck with a plastic tommy gun bolted to the roof.
