A Banquet Fit for a Princess entry from Luca Di — a Pastamancer who gave Donut his train hat on the fourth floor and whose mother Giulia DiMarco found her mind again as a Benevento — grants Donut the spell Temporary Macaroni. Then the light turns green. Carl swings both hired ghouls out on Hedy's pulley rig so their cages hang off the truck like wings, then fires the eight-pack launcher straight up; three of the four missiles aimed at team Sparkles sheet their rolling vine in green mucus and blind them. As the invulnerability times out, twin twenty-foot waves of sugar hermits close from either side; the ghouls answer with Biscuit Packs that set into rock-hard foam, and Donut throws a mile-long Wall of Fire down the passenger side.
