The Filthy Little Crawler’s Book of Voodoo

A convention message board in a book · undroppable

The prize inside nearly everyone's Gold Prepotente Box: a thick, blank black-leather diary that can't be traded, destroyed or dropped. Named for the old 'Voodoo boards' at sci-fi conventions, pinboards where attendees left notes under each other's names, it works the same way. Come within close range of another crawler who owns the book and their name permanently appears in yours; you can then leave private messages under their name, or post under your own for everyone who carries your entry. You must physically open the book to read, though you can copy the text into your interface. The System's description darkly teases a 'nefarious purpose' that 'will become clear later.' Donut declares it a humiliating step backward from the real messaging system and refuses to use it.
