Crupper of the Benevolent Champion

A plain silver crupper of fine chain mail, close in shape to the larger-scaled one Donut already wears, pulled out of her celestial slap-chop box after the box folds itself into an origami swan. Mordecai swears out loud at the sight of it: it is a matching item to her champion cloak. It vanishes into her inventory before anyone reads its abilities, and Donut refuses to talk about gear until the last box is open.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 8 — Mordecai names it after it disappears; Carl never gets a look at the stat block.
• Chapter 9 — The new crupper replaces the Fae-Scale crupper Donut has worn since the first floor, and its description abandons the item text halfway through to argue about whether anyone can be a hero to everyone.
