The Dreadnought Clan

A faction-wars participant race: seven-foot, cretin-wide, red-skinned brutes with fist-sized ground-down horn stubs. The clan pulled out of the ninth floor’s faction wars after Larracos flooded (their war chief’s wife was stung by a jellyfish), leaving some of its members stranded as unaffiliated hunters. Carl had eyed enlisting the Dreadnoughts to help shield his changelings on the ninth floor; instead he meets one, the merchant “Haxor the Destroyer,” in a club restroom and kills him, looting another of the mysterious intergalactic credit chits.
