The Great Race (Floor Seven)
The redesigned seventh floor (the original seventh became the eighth), a Valtay-funded “engineering marvel.” Crawlers start in glass pods stacked in a vast corkscrew around stacked exit portals, then race through hundreds of kilometers of branching tunnels (no dead ends, no backtracking, paths that seal once used) toward the eighth floor. It's built like a giant Prince Rupert's drop, after the “Great Race” fairytale of the boy Kiznet trapped forever in a resealing maze. Tipped off by his dead mother's Boots of Kiznet's Final Flight and armed with the sponsors' “7”-marked Hammer of Fast Forward and Stick of Cascadia's Screams, Prepotente cracks the resurrection-chamber wall and shatters the entire floor to dust in one tap, dumping everyone straight to the eighth floor and enraging the announcer Cascadia.
