Linus

The only tourist who showed up for a floor that was supposed to host five hundred, which by default makes him the winner of extra access with his preferred racer after every heat. He is a tall, long-limbed soother whose form is not fully solid, wears a fanny pack and a shirt printed with a nude image of Elle McGibbons, and carries a large, badly drawn tattoo of her face on one arm. He runs the center system chapter of Elle's Snow Cones, which holds her fan merchandise contract. Elle keeps him sitting under the table, and he volunteers what he knows about her late husband and her room at Meadow Lark.

• Chapter 15 — Discovered clinging to the table pole after Carl has been kicking him for a while; Elle McGibbons explains he is the sole tourist and therefore wins her company by default.
• Chapter 16 — Suggests a Creedence Clearwater Revival song because it was Elle McGibbons's late husband's favourite band, and Elle turns genuinely angry for the first time.
