Lusca, the Octo-Shark Brood Mother

The special-event City Boss of the water quadrant’s depths: Lusca, a mountain-sized “sharktopus” (Octo-Shark Brood Mother Queen, Level 82) hauled from the water moon Hayes 17. A male Octo-Shark drags the broken Akula down to her as a courtship gift; she swallows the sub whole as a mouthbrooder, giving her swarm of hungry babies ten minutes to strip everything inside before mama digests the rest. Teeth the size of surfboards, a ten-minute timer, and a fight run as a livestreamed beta-test “Special Event.”

Book 4 appearances

• Chapter 26 — Swallows the halved Akula with Carl, Katia, Tran and Vadim inside, starting the ten-minute special-event boss fight.
• Chapter 27 — Carl’s Protective Shell shatters her jaw and grievously wounds her, but Katia’s rocket-propelled buzzsaw deals the actual killing blow, cleaving through her tiny brain during an out-of-control spin.
