Mantaurs

Disturbing NPC neighborhood bosses (a human torso sprouting from where the neck of another human torso should be, two men stacked into one body with two pairs of clawed arms) who keep the 'faith' as the Tangle's NPCs turn on each other (the dwarves and gremlins lynch Madison; the mantaurs guard the employee line and attack crawlers on sight). Despite the '-taur' name, they're no animal hybrid — 'half human, and, uh, half human.' Worshippers of the war god Grull, they cry 'Hail! The battle is met!' and die invoking him, which makes them the perfect vessel for Carl's involuntary Grull summon. Gore-Gore the ManTauR was the first of their kind he met.
