Creature · debuts Book 6, Chapter 41 — “Iowa”
The Nullians (“The Grays”)
The big-headed aliens behind the Gray-alien legend
The galaxy’s actual “Grays”: a race of annoying, giant-headed little aliens the System AI calls the Null, forever poking illegally about Earth, which is why humans knew exactly what they looked like. They keep peaceful nightgaunts as captured mounts and pack animals, and it was a Nullian who smuggled the nightgaunt that became Iowa’s 1903 “Visitor” legend. The AI’s contempt for them is bottomless: it scolds humanity for giving them “way too much credit” by calling them the Grays at all.
