Pit Stop Rules

The System's standing conditions at a race pit stop, dropped on the field right after the second race began. Safe-room rules do not apply and safe-room access is unavailable, a two-hour timer starts the moment a vehicle parks, the vehicle may not leave its garage until that timer expires, and garage doors may not be closed at all. Hedy's verdict on the last of those is that she is not safe like this.

• Chapter 44 — The rule prints as the truck passes under the Pit Stop arch and again as it parks; Hedy says the change was dropped on the crews just after the race started and leaves her exposed, so Mongo and Jamal are posted to guard her.
