The High Elf Rogue (born a common Elf) first named on the ninth floor as the crawler who received the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook, later hinted at as OIPAN's shadowy backer back on Floor Five. A signed note reveals him as author of the second edition and his decision to accept a hundred-season “game guide” exit deal. The Book 7 Prologue puts a face to the name: after surviving the nightmare tenth floor (a world where every manufactured object was sapient and homicidal) he sits in an outreach guild and takes that exit deal in person, haunted by having panicked and abandoned his trapped friend Menerva to escape. He is later listed as Missing and Wanted by Syndicate Security: the war's quiet architect.
