The Rainbow Beacon

A funnel of prismatic light that erupts a mile into the Madness woods, piercing the clouds and waving like a giant flashlight: the Memorial Crystal of Apito, suddenly active in the possession of the hiding crawler Osvaldo, who can't get it back in his inventory. The System updates Carl's ‘Find Out Who Killed My Son’ quest to abandon his raid and obtain the crystal; Carl refuses mid-operation. The beacon shatters Elle's Subterfuge, splits the Madness army, and draws half their forces toward Carl's strike team.
