Where the Screeching Death Manatees come from, per the System's aside during Miss Talulah's description. A reparative terraforming project on a former Land War world collapsed when its orcish owner lost badly enough at sports betting to put his company and his family into indentureship. A generation later the Operatic Bankers' Federation, picking over the estate, found an uplift satellite still running: not an intelligence, just a non-sapient system stuck on fast-forward evolution, and a world of nightmares grown out of ordinary animals. The reclamation crew, collectively named Otto Banking Unit 3, wanted to poison the planet until a feasibility study suggested a horror safari instead. The raccoons there are Doom Crier Beasts and the cockatiels are Fuck-Off Cockatiels, and the place is still open.

- Chapter 4 — The System narrates the planet's history in the middle of a monster description, blames a malfunctioning uplift satellite and a bankrupt orc, and notes in passing that Otto himself is now a registered guest of Club Scolopendra.
