Screeching Death Manatee

House-sized manatees infesting the cave stretch of the tenth floor's first heat, able to rise straight out of the water in open defiance of physics and lethal to any vehicle or mount that passes. The System insists the name is the genuine species record: they were ordinary manatees seeded into a half-finished terraforming project, then uplifted by a malfunctioning evolution satellite, and renamed when the ruined world was rebranded as a horror safari park. Miss Talulah, a level 90 specimen tagged as a special guest creature for the tenth and eleventh floors, drags a bus-sized ladybug off the road and dies to two of Donut's magic missiles.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 3 — Named by the Navitron as both the environment and the presumed hazard for heat one; one of them hauls a bus-sized ladybug off the road and crunches down on it, killing the team's mount.
• Chapter 4 — Miss Talulah, level 90, looms over Carl and Donut with white fluid running down her face and is one-shot by a pair of magic missiles, spilling ladybug pieces into the water.
