Splooge
Drink it and the environment stops mattering for a while
A protective dose drunk by the cupful, and by every account worse going down than anyone braces for. A full gulp buys an hour of protection from environmental hazards and puts a blinking countdown in the interface, and the System's own award text takes the trouble to note how bold an hour is when the race has nine minutes left on it. Carl swallows one so he can cross the toxic air of apartment 130 on foot, after Jurgen turns out to be down to a single dose. Sweety the tapir, for the record, smells the way it tastes.
Book 8 appearances
- Chapter 76 — Jurgen reports he has one dose left and cannot spare it to go and fetch Prepotente off Sweety's back, which is the whole reason the Royal Court turns around.
- Chapter 77 — Carl drinks a full cup, gags, and gets an hour of hazard protection plus a blinking timer; he loses his breath and his eyes burn the moment he leaves the truck's containment, then the feeling settles.
- Chapter 94 — A beaker poured down the struggling pig's throat calms her instantly and converts her into an enthusiast; Carl chokes some down himself before the fight.
- Chapter 95 — Mordecai settles the rules mid-crisis: the splooge acts like a potion but is treated as a food-based buff, so potion cooldowns do not apply to it — information Carl receives one pig-nipple piercing too late.
