The Dream

A powerful, space-faring society of strikingly pale, bald elves with a major stake in the ninth floor’s faction wars: they arrived in the Hunting Grounds by spaceship to hunt. Their leader’s mother is the bald, beautiful Epitome Noflex, whose photograph Carl carries. On the hunters’ carved-up territory map the Dream hold the quadrant containing Point Mongo, and they have “claimed” exactly one crawler: Louis. The hunter drew a broken-pencil X over his smiling face after Louis made Juice Box impersonate Epitome to seduce her.

Book 5 appearances

• Chapter 15 — Identified from a dead hunter’s map: off-world pale elves holding the Point Mongo quadrant, with a one-name vendetta against Louis.
• Chapter 22 — Led by Epitome Tagg (the Moon Elves); they shell Point Mongo with a poison-gas catapult to take the city, and the captured accountant Akland confirms Tagg only wants Louis, for besmirching his mother’s honor.
