The eighth deckmaster: a magic-using turkey, “Bereft Shaman of Meleagris Gallopavo Rex,” perched in the rafters over tens of thousands of farmed white turkeys. A high priest left purposeless when his god Wakinyan was killed, he and his flock were taken in by the ogre necromancer Sharp-Elbows. In the fight he plays persistent mystic cards: Idolized (turns the whole farm’s turkeys hostile) and Ralphie (mutes all spellcasting) and summons a feather-headdressed Wakinyan Temple Guard, fighting alongside Sharp-Elbows’s own lizard-headed Unk Tehi Temple Guards. Carl finally ends him with a Daughter’s Kiss that punches a crater through the barn floor.

• Chapter 42 — Turns the farm’s turkeys hostile with Idolized and mutes the party with Ralphie before Carl’s Daughter’s Kiss obliterates him and cracks the barn loose from the cliff.
