Type-A Containment Zone

The blank room a crawler takes their between-floor deal negotiations in. Chandra describes it as a variant of a zero zone, built to accommodate crawlers who have trouble in an ordinary one: most of a crawler's enhancements are switched off inside it, which is why Donut says she feels funny. The attorney attends remotely — Chandra can smell the gore on Donut well enough to cut her receptors, but Donut's body on the table is a projection she cannot bring herself to reach through.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 0 — Donut arrives in it straight off the previous floor, blood-soaked and shedding red ash, and asks why she feels funny. Chandra explains the zone as she introduces herself. The room is not broadcast, but Chandra tells Donut the negotiations of all top-ten crawlers are available live to media accounts, so they are probably being watched — which Donut then uses.
